Pastor Wayne Traverse is blessed to be married to his childhood sweetheart and best friend Maria DiMauro since 1974. They have two daughters, Heather Esposito and husband Andrew who reside in North Carolina with their five children, and Carrie Burr and husband Jonathan who reside in Connecticut.
Pastor Wayne studied at Liberty University and graduated from Andersonville Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Theology, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Christian Counseling Degree. He is a licensed clinical pastoral counselor through the National Christian Counseling Association.
Pastor Wayne is a passionate witness for Jesus Christ and spends most of his time sharing the gospel message with who ever he can and where ever he can. He especially has a heart felt desire to reach the young and the disenfranchised. In light of this, we facilitate a First Priority Christian Club at Port St. Lucie High School. Walton Road Baptist Church has also implemented a Celebrate Recovery program, which is directed towards those with hurts and habits and hang-ups.
He is an avid outdoorsman and nature lover and motorcycle enthusiast.
Pastor Wayne is an expository preacher and enjoys preaching through the books of the Bible verse by verse with James 1:22 always in mind, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (NIV)
